Recently, both Lady Gaga and Madonna have come forward and publically discussed their past sexual assaults, with Gaga also revealing that she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of hers. For the most part, people have been really supportive of these women and their revelations…then there is Piers Morgan.
Piers took to Twitter to explain how ptsd is a military disorder and how Madonna and Gaga only ALLEGED rape, meaning they might not have actually been raped, because, you know, he’s such a decent and good guy.
Piers’ went on this Twitter rant in response to Gaga’s claim she has ptsd:

FIRST OF ALL, there are literally thousands upon thousands of people who have never fought in the military nor been anywhere near a war that suffer from ptsd. It stems from the exposure to any type of serious trauma, not just one specific type of trauma. I’ve worked with kids for years, many of whom have been diagnosed with ptsd, and guess what? None of them have fought in any wars and we live in fucking CANADA, not a war torn country, so check yourself.
Secondly, accusing a woman of lying about a past rape because she didn’t report it or no one got convicted for it is literally the most male privileged, rape-culture promoting thing you could ever spew out into the world. Have a look at this chart, would you?
Tell me again how no one being convicted for their rapes make their rapes invalid, Piers?
Listen, I get that idiot celebrities do a million and one stupid things to get attention and Gaga and Madonna are annoying as fuck for the majority of shit they say and do, but it’s no one’s place to say what has or hasn’t happened to you or what you do or don’t suffer from. Piers’ comments are offensive to all sexual assault survivors, female AND male, and also offensive to the people who suffer from ptsd for a myriad of reasons.
